Have you turned off your autopayments to LJ recently? In that case, you might want to check again. sansa1970 and loupgarou1750 had both turned off their autopayments, only to find that they had been turned back on, in sansa1970's case resulting in her being charged for two more months. In order to see whether or not your autopayments are on or off, go here. Current Mood: angry | | Sunday, August 19th, 2007 | | 6:23 pm |

In regards to Strikethrough 2/ Deletegate I just wanted to say that I am narcissa_malfoy on InsaneJournal and mrsluciusmalfoy at GreatestJournal ETA: and JournalFen. I would like to use the opportunity to thank all of you that are on my friendslist, and tell you that I love you, every single one. I've never before had the chance to tell you how much you have meant to me, brightening even my saddest days and making my brightest days brighter. I hope all of you that have been so kind as to friend me here will consider doing it over there as well, because I do not want to lose any one of you. I followed fandom here, but it was not LJ that I loved, it was fandommers, and in time, LJ-ers. Wherever fandom goes, I will follow. | | Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 | | 11:20 pm |
I honestly think justira has the right idea.
If the clincher is ads and how many people see them -- what about a mass reversion from Plus/sponsored back to basic? Wouldn't that put a sizable dent in ad viewership? Or at least help supplement the number of people who actually leave LJ?
Would this work? If people think this will then by golly, drop those ads, pronto, if you have them, and entreat your friends to do the same. Punch them where it hurts, guys. Punch them riiiight in the wallet.
Full post found here.
I second this wholeheartedly. This is one way to immediately make a very noticeable impact. | | 9:31 pm |
Stand up to be counted.
All fandom members, I direct you to this community: http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_counts/profile
"Livejournal has over 13 million journals created.
How many of those journals belong to members of fandom?
Let's find out.
There is no posting access here; this is only a body count. All you have to do is join, and you will be counted."
It may be a sad day for LJ, but fandom has made me proud.
Spread the word. Translations to other languages are on the page I linked to. | | Thursday, June 22nd, 2006 | | 2:40 pm |
Meme I was tagged by aulizia. It's the first time I've ever been tagged, I feel so popular now ;) List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to.
Tagging...anyone who wants to play :) | | Tuesday, September 20th, 2005 | | 8:40 pm |
The Poetry Meme This is one of my favourite poems.
Happiness, by Inger Hagerup
What is happiness? -To walk on a grassy forest path In thin, thin summer's clothes, Scratch one's fresh mosquito bites With lazy contemplation. To be young and very rich on unlived love.
To have a spider's web Caress you lightly over mouth and cheek And give some thought to cabbages and kings. Perhaps awaiting a letter. Ask the daisies for advice And maybe yes - and maybe no - He loves me - loves me not.
And soon to know you. | | Monday, August 22nd, 2005 | | 3:53 am |
Drabble originally posted to malfoy100. From a fic that I will probably never write. The Little Sister Lucius was richer than Bellatrix. He had an older name than Bellatrix. He had a better name than Bellatrix. But Bellatrix had a little sister. Actually, she had two, but not a year separated her from Andromeda, and Lucius could justify placing her with the older children. The little sister was a tad chubby, unsteady, and dressed in icing on the cake dress robes that together with her golden ringlets made her look like his mother’s old doll. He wanted one just like that. It was simply not to be had that Bellatrix should have something when he did not. | | Sunday, August 14th, 2005 | | 5:20 pm |
Drabble originally posted to malfoy100. Practicing for the Apparition TestNarcissa pulled the cloak closer. The Muggle she had approached when her Apparition had not left her anywhere near Hogsmeade, purple hair sadly not resulting from an inexperienced Metamorphmagus but appalling fashion sense, eyed her clothing with amusement. “Don’t know any of those people, and King’s Cross is a long way. Your best shot is to…” Two bright blasts and the sound of screaming interrupted her. In few years Narcissa would be the sister of a high ranking follower of Voldemort, and the wife of another, but now she was sixteen years old and fled with the nameless Muggle girl. | | Saturday, August 13th, 2005 | | 9:04 pm |
Drabble originally posted to malfoy100. ElectivesA/N: Not to be taken seriously. Narcissa halted at the sight of her son going through her old school things. Draco looked up. “I’m sorry, Mother, but I refuse to risk life and limbs to get hold of that book of Professor Hagrid’s.” “Of course you would be welcome to my copy of it, Draco, only…I didn’t actually take Care of Magical Creatures. I was, but then I lost a bet to that prat Evans. Muggle Studies. I had to interview her sister, whom Evans always claimed to be the worst Muggle; prejudiced, snotty and stuck-up. Although,” Narcissa frowned, “for some reason we got along splendidly.” | | Saturday, July 9th, 2005 | | 6:32 pm |
Drabble originally posted to malfoy100. DependencyIndependence had never been achievable for Narcissa. Andromeda’s ruin, Sirius’ betrayal, Bellatrix’ childlessness and Regulus’ ineptitude would have rendered it impossible even if not for mediocre grades and empty family coffers. She had settled for gratitude for that in Lucius Malfoy which preferred to elevate rather than be elevated. Lucius twined her wand, the hem of his cloak still wet from the seas of Azkaban. “I heard that you received an offer while I was…gone.” He followed the line of her collarbone with a cold thumb. “And that you refused?” She laid further back in the bed. “Independence is overrated.” | | Tuesday, May 24th, 2005 | | 3:05 am |
Drabble originally posted to malfoy100. Prelude to Quitting"Oh, goodness, Regulus!" Narcissa Black stepped backwards. "I realise that your current employment scheme is somewhat lax in regards to entering people's homes uninvited, but that is not any reason to materialise without warning in the middle of our living room floor! You just be glad that Bella and everyone else are at a party and not here for you to splinch yourself on.” He stared at her, wordlessly. She mildened. “Look at you! There’s blood on your collar from shaving. Honestly, I have to say, as a group, you are not the coolest.” Her smile began to waver. “Regulus?” |
